Single Column Pneumatic ATEX Mixer Lift Description
This single column pneumatic ATEX Mixer lift was designed to raise and lower a mixer
in an ATEX Zone 1 Environment. The machine is constructed from Grade 304 stainless
steel and is fully TIG welded throughout to a pharmaceutical environment standard.
The Mixer Lift was mobile on two fixed and two swivel braked castors. The lifting
arm is raised and lowered using a pneumatic cylinder via push button control. The
control valves and push buttons were mounted in a stainless steel enclosure. The
Ytron Mixer was operated via an Extronics Stahl ATEX Controller suitable for a Zone
1 Hazardous Area with Start, Emergency Stop and Reset push buttons as well as a
‘Running’ indicator, Contactor and Overload.

ATEX Mixer Lift Application Story
This ATEX Mixer Lift was required to raise and lower a Ytron Mixer into a drum in
an ATEX environment. Once the mixer was lowered, various liquids and powders were
added into the drum to be mixed. Once the mix was completed, the mixer was raised
out of the drum using the hoist and the drum removed for further processing.
