Double Pillar Palletainer Tipper Description
This double pillar palletainer tipper is designed to lift and tip a 1500 Litre cardboard
palletainer (1200 x 1000 x 1700mm High) at a discharge height of 7310mm. The double
pillar palletainer tipper is constructed from Grade 304 stainless steel and is fully
TIG welded throughout. Lifting with the double pillar palletainer tipper is accomplished
via chains driven by a motor gearbox mounted at the top of the one column with a
crossover shaft to the other column. This double pillar palletainer tipper was designed
to be bolted to the floor and braced near the top.
Safety Guard to PD 5304:2005 Safety of Machinery
The safety guard is constructed from 40 x 40 x 3mm stainless steel box section,
2mm stainless steel sheet and 20mm diameter stainless steel tube to meet the requirements
of PD 5304:2005 Safety of Machinery. It encloses the double pillar palletainer tipper
to a height of 6600mm on all sides with a hinged door through which the palletainer
is loaded. The guard door is electrically and mechanically interlocked preventing
the double pillar palletainer tipper from operating with the door open. In addition,
the guard door can only be opened when the lifting carriage is at the full down
position. The double pillar palletainer tipper control system has provision for
a ‘Call for Product’ signal to be connected.

Double Pillar Palletainer Tipper Application Story
This double pillar palletainer tipper was designed to load IQF Frozen Vegetables
into vibratory feeder hoppers at a height of 7300mm at the start of a gravity fed
multihead packing system for individual and mixed frozen vegetables. The cardboard
palletainers weighing up to 1500 Kgs were loaded using pallet trucks and the tipping
cycle was automated. The double pillar palletainer tipper lifted to an intermediate
limit switch where it would stop and the tipper control would transfer to a remote
push button station mounted at the upper level. The operator would then control
the rate of discharge from the palletainer via ‘dead man’s handle’ control. Once
the whole palletainer was discharged, the operator would send the empty palletainer
back down where it could be removed and replaced.
