Single Pillar Guarded Skip Tipper Description
This single pillar guarded skip tipper was designed to lift and tip an integral skip at a height of 2750mm. The guarded skip tipper is constructed from Grade 304 stainless steel and is fully TIG welded throughout. The lifting is achieved via a chain driven by a motor gearbox mounted at the top of the main column. The guarded skip tipper is designed to be bolted to the floor.
Safety Guard to PD 5304:2005 Safety of Machinery
The safety guard is constructed from 40 x 40 x 3mm stainless steel box section and 3mm wire, 40mm aperture stainless steel weld mesh to meet the requirements of PD 5304:2005 Safety of Machinery. It would enclose the guarded skip tipper to a height of 2200mm on three sides with a hinged door on the fourth side. The guard door is electrically and mechanically interlocked preventing the guarded skip tipper from operating with the door open. In addition, the guard door can only be opened when the lifting carriage is at the full down position. The guarded skip tipper control system has provision for a ‘Call for Product’ signal to be connected.

Guarded Skip Tipper Application Story
This guarded skip tipper was designed for APV Baker to accept a load of dough from their mixer and to lift and tip automatically into a dough depositor. The guarded skip tipper had to interface into the APV control system and became an integral part of the dough handling system. The guarded skip tipper is angled forward by 15 degrees to clear various parts of the depositor and to give a better discharge angle to ensure that all of the dough was released quickly and completely. The integral skip was coated with Teflon to also ensure the dough released. The skip could be easily removed through the safety guard gate for cleaning purposes.
