Single Pillar Guarded Tray Tipper Description
This single pillar guarded tray tipper was designed to lift and tip a pair of crates (600 x 400 x 170mm High) at a height of 4000mm. The guarded tray tipper is constructed from Grade 304 stainless steel and is fully TIG welded throughout. The lifting is achieved by a food quality toothed timing belt driven by a motor gearbox mounted at the bottom of the main column. The guarded tray tipper is designed to be bolted to the floor. The crates are hand loaded through an aperture in the guarded tray tipper guard fitted with a Safety Light Barrier. When the lifting cycle is started, the light guard is energised until the machine lifts and tips through its cycle and returns to the load position. At the lift frame full down position, a pneumatic cylinder ejects the empty crates automatically.
Safety Guard to PD 5304:2005 Safety of Machinery
The safety guard is constructed from 40 x 40 x 3mm stainless steel box section and 3mm wire, 25mm aperture stainless steel weld mesh to meet the requirements of PD 5304:2005 Safety of Machinery. It would enclose the guarded tray tipper to a height of 2200mm on three sides with a hinged door on the fourth side. The guard door is electrically and mechanically interlocked preventing the guarded tray tipper from operating with the door open. In addition, the guard door can only be opened when the lifting carriage is at the full down position. The guarded tray tipper control system has provision for a ‘Call for Product’ signal to be connected.

Guarded Tray Tipper Application Story
This guarded tray tipper was designed for a salad processor to lift and tip a pair of salad trays at a time and discharge into a vibratory feed conveyor feeding a multi head weighing system. Two trays were loaded through an aperture in the safety guard which was fitted with a safety light barrier. Once the trays were loaded, they were then lifted and tipped and ejected automatically at the full down position by the operation of a pneumatic cylinder. The infeed and base of the lift frame were fitted with stainless steel gravity rollers to allow easy loading and discharge of the trays.
