Keg Handling and Powder Discharge System Description
This Keg Handling and Powder Discharge System was manufactured from 316L stainless
steel throughout with a minimum 240 Grit finish to all non-contact parts. This included
the box section structure of the hoist, the Keg Platform, the Keg rotation mechanism
and all ancillary parts to the hoist such as the base plate, pneumatic cylinder
enclosure etc.
A 20 Kgs Keg of Penicillin was loaded onto the lifting platform and elevated via
a pneumatic cylinder to dock with the Vibratory Feeder Tube. Once docked, the whole
assembly including the feeder could be rotated through 180 degrees via a braked
manual stainless steel gearbox. In the rotated position, the Penicillin fed into
the Vibratory Feeder Tube, along the tube to the discharge end.

Powder Discharge System Application Story
This Keg Handling and Powder Discharge System was required to handle a Keg of Penicillin
in an Aseptic Environment to allow the Keg to be unloaded in a safe and controlled
manner. The Keg was loaded onto a lifting platform and raised to dock with a Vibratory
Feeder Tube. Once docked, the Keg was rotated through 180 degrees via a manual stainless
steel gearbox and drive. The Vibratory Feeder Tube was then started to discharge
the Penicillin at the required rate. All equipment was built to a very high Pharmaceutical
Aseptic Environment Standard.
