Ytron-Quadro Powder Transfer System with Mixer
PHL/150/400-1400/B
Powder Transfer System and Mixer Description
This powder transfer system incorporates a pneumatically operated Lift that is designed to lift a QVAC Vacuum Transfer Hopper, a Bypass powder infeed tube and a Ytron Mixer. The powder transfer system is constructed from Grade 304 stainless steel box section and is fully TIG welded throughout. The powder transfer system is mobile with two fixed and two swivel braked castors. The lifting arm will be raised and lowered via a pneumatic cylinder using dual push button control. The height of the Mixer in the lowered position is 400mm from the floor and the lift stroke is 1000mm to allow the mixer to clear the drum in the full raised position. The Mixer and QVAC are mounted on a common lift arm and the QVAC hopper could be raised independently to allow its disengagement from the Bypass. To ensure a safe system of operation, there were two Spring Actuated limit switches either side of the drum location position. There was a further sensor to sense that the lift was in its lowered position. The Mixer will only run once both bin location switches and the lift sensor are operated.

Powder Transfer System Application Story
This powder transfer system was required to vacuum transfer powders from a bag or bin into a vacuum transfer hopper. Once in the vacuum transfer hopper, the powders were fed into the solution via the bypass tube so that they were released directly into the mixer impeller giving a very efficient mix. The component parts of the powder transfer system were all fixed to a mobile base frame and this base frame was fitted with a pneumatically operated lift system. This lift allowed the transfer hopper and mixer to be lifted clear for a drum to be loaded for mixing.
