Sugar Transfer System Description
This sugar transfer system incorporates a manually operated lift to raise and lower
the transfer hopper. The sugar transfer system from Grade 304 stainless steel box
section and is fully TIG welded throughout. The sugar transfer system is mobile
with two fixed and two swivel braked castors. The sugar is metered out of a bulk
bag by a pneumatic Star valve into the air flow pipework. Air is allowed into the
air flow pipework at the infeed end by an air filter. The outfeed end of this pipework
is connected to the vacuum hopper. An air blower creates a negative air pressure
and therefore suction in the vacuum hopper. At the base of the vacuum hopper is
a second pneumatic star valve which controls the discharge of sugar from the vacuum
hopper into the mixing vessel. The vacuum hopper also has non intrusive capacitance
type High and Low Level control sensors.

Sugar Transfer System Application Story
This sugar transfer system was required to vacuum transfer sugar from a 1 Tonne
Bulk Bag through a vacuum transfer hopper and finally into a tank of water. The
sugar transfer system was fitted out with the vacuum transfer hopper, air blower,
electrical control panel and a manual lift to raise and lower the hopper.
